KRISHNA BHUSAN BAL
Krishna Bhusan Bal's poetry has a distinct tone. Readers come across
softest words in his poetry. He has a book of poems Bholi Basne
Bihan ( The Cock-Siren Heralding Tomorrow ). The book was such a
success that it placed him among the best Nepali poets. He has been conferred
on several awards. A retired bank employee, he was born in Nauran, Ilam in
1948 AD. Currently he is vice chairman of
Vaani Prakashan.

ABHI SUBEDI
Born on 30 June 1945 in Saawala, Tehrathum, a hill district that lies in
eastern Nepal, Abhi Subedi is a celebrated poet, critic,
playwright and translator. He has earned Ph.D. on the pragmatics of Poetry
from Tribhuwan University. He has worked as a professor in T.U. for many
years. An author of a number of published works, he has received
prestigious awards called Garima Samman Puraskar and Ganesh
Bhandari Smriti Puraskar.

MARILYN MCINTYRE
Marilyn
McIntyre was born in Dundas, a
small town outside of Toronto in Ontario, Canada on May 26, 1952. Much
of her poetry has appeared on the web and in the publication at McMaster
University, where she currently works. She has her own way of
discovering a content for a poem and finding an apt diction to clothe
it.

ANNEMETTE KURE ANDERSEN
Annemette
Kure Andersen (born 1962) is a poet, translator and editor (from 1996 to
2001) of the important Danish journal – a stage for first performances of
poems and graphics – “Hvedekorn” (“Wheatgrains”). She was born at
Ribe in South Jutland and moved on to Århus in order to
study at the university. Her main subject was Italian with Danish as second
language, and she published her first poems in 1991 in the volume
“Dicentra spectabilis”. In her first book and the following collection “Espalier” (1993) she makes consistent use of repetition and pause.
In her third collection, “Tidehverv”(“Watershed”) (1996), she
follows up one of the main themes in her poetry, time and the dimensionality
of time. The fourth collection, “Epifanier” (“Epiphanies”)
from 1997 is Annemette Kure Andersen’s high point in poetry to date.

SARADA SHARMA
Sarada
Sharma is an influential contemporary Nepali poet. She was born in
Syangja, a district in western Nepal. She has published two books of
poems and a book of short stories. She belongs to those chosen few who take
poetry as a serious art. Her poetry leads a reader to a depth of

Born in
1949, A.J. Rao is a banker by profession. He lives in Hyderabad. His
interest include poetry-writing and music. He
started writing poetry just two years ago in the highly charged Presence of
Lord Venkateswara in Tirupati where he was then posted on his
official assignment. Some pieces of his poetry have appeared in a few
poetry portals on the web. He unravels the psychic mystery of the
mythological characters in his poetry.

Surviving

PARASHU PRADHAN
Parashu Pradhan, born in 1943 in
Bhojpur, is one of the Nepal's leading short story writer. He draws
characters in his stories from variety of Nepalese social strata. He
portraits them with subtlety and vigor and delves deep into their psyche.
Author of more than a dozen of books, his latest published work is 'Uttarardha'
(The Latter Half ). His well acclaimed stories include Dalle Khola (The
Dalle River), Tokiyoma Sano Huddha (The Little Buddha in Tokyo), Uttarardha
(The Latter Half), Chesta, Chesta, Chesta (Attempts!!!), Ma Tero Logne Hu
Nirmala (I am Your Husbaband, Nirmala), Tebal Mathiko Aakasbani (The
Telegram on the Table). Currently he is the chairperson of Bani
Prakashan, a major publishing house and a literary circle.

BIPLAV DHAKAL
Biplav
Dhakal (1967) was born in Bhojpur, Nepal. An M.A. from Tribhuvan University,
this young college teacher has published three collections of poems so far (
The Journey Through Snow, 1988, Unmanned Harbour, 1994 and Black Interval,
2003 ) including a book of critical study in 1992. He is chiefly known in
Nepal as a poet and critic.
He is an
artist in an anarchist's way. His poems are often marked by cutting
indignation and compassion. Some of his poems go spinning out to the level
of abstraction. Yet, they are beautiful even before they are understood.

MANU MANJIL
Poet, ghazal
writer and translator, Manu Manjil is making preparation for the
