G David Schwartz
three poems
Dreams Written in Sand
Dreams written in sand
Are as the life of man
For a while so sharp and true
But later on just bold and blue
Like the record or your favorite group
Melted in the burning sun
Challenging the ugly goop
To stay there on the run
Like a message from the sun
All burn up and seeming dumb
Sometimes nice and some days mean
Like a short programmed dream
Be the person who takes
Adversity into your wake
And just so it all again and again
For repetition is a lovely friend

I Would Like to See
I would surely like to see
The arms of your beauty
I would just enjoy the vision
Of your marvelous run sand jump
I just want to spread
My arms around your essence
And kiss your lips and touch your hand
In true gleaming effervesces
I would like to see your beauty
Then want away in the moonbeams

Standing on the Barrel of
Love
I have been standing in a barrel of love
Just standing and swooning for my one true love
Not thinking about anything
Just waiting for the little ring
That announces the heartfelt rub
So I think what the hay
Can I possible say
Cept that I truly like
To be with you at night
And not let you get away
Just standing on the barrel or love
And truth and insinuations
Stepping back to see the day
That just slipped and went away
Not still lonely but oh so tight
Standing in the barrel of me in love
Down in the shreds with you my sweet dove.
