William K Lawrence
three
poems
Grace
Another harmonized rendition
Face on the wall
Horizon landscape
Of an alternative Monday
Where there are no bouts of mania
Scars are erased
One dot at a time
In a jetting motion
Hard
Like a jack rabbit
Frolicking, escaping
The savage hands
Of grace.

The
Power of Clouds
Hovering over the clean pillows
of the sky
the ones that make us dream
as children.
We pass over the dark ones too.
So full of energy
that will cleanse
the world
and put us in our place
by showing us who’s in control.

Never All
Come and hurt me as you may.
Steal my breath in the night
And shatter my aching heart
With a sledge hammer
Until it beats no further.
Silence my every word
With hand to mouth,
Silence my thoughts
With a web of broken trust
Until no more tears exist.
Take my body, take my brain.
Crush my heart and hold it close,
Keep it near and posses me, dear.
Keep the pain I no longer desire.
Think you have me all
When my soul you will never.
